Technical Measures Taken
We have implemented the following technical accessibility measures on this website:
- Skip navigation link: A "Skip to main content" link is provided at the top of every page for keyboard users.
- Semantic HTML landmarks: Pages use
<nav>,<main>,<footer>, and<section>elements to define clear page regions. - ARIA labels: Navigation menus, icon-only buttons (hamburger menu, basket), and
social media links include descriptive
aria-labelattributes. - Decorative icons hidden: Decorative Font Awesome icons are marked with
aria-hidden="true"so screen readers skip them. - Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements are reachable and operable via keyboard. A visible gold focus ring appears on focused elements.
- Language attribute: All pages declare the correct language via
lang="en"orlang="el". - Form labels: All form fields on the Order and Contact pages have associated
<label>elements linked byfor/idattributes. - Image alternative text: Product images and logos include descriptive
altattributes. - Mobile menu state: The hamburger menu button communicates its open/closed state
via
aria-expanded. - Color contrast: Text colours are selected to meet the 4.5:1 contrast ratio requirement against their backgrounds.
Known Limitations
We are aware of the following limitations and are working to address them:
- Some hero section images are rendered as CSS backgrounds. These are decorative and do not convey informational content.
- Third-party scripts (e.g., Google Analytics, cookie consent) may introduce elements that are not fully under our accessibility control.
